"Everyone knew how laborious the usual Method is of attaining to Arts and Sciences; where as by his Contrivanace, the most ignorant Person at a reasonable Charge, and with a little bodily labour, may write Books in Philosophy, Poetry, Politics, Law,Mathematics and Theology, without the least assistance from Genius or Study." ( Jonathon Swift in Gulliver's Travels)
This page documents the production of the generative poem Code 12 in 2001-2. It features 12 different iterations of a generative poem code and discusses the changes in the code as it developed towards the version that I finally settled on back then.
I kept a range of the output from these various iterations. The examples below reflect the changes I made in the output during the course of developing the program.
