Landfill

This place
is no place
land
manufactured
outta plastics
poisons
old pesticides
the lick and the spit
we wanted to hide

it's
newsprint doggerel
unintentional spite
things best forgotten
the stink of the night

it's hell
halitosis
all snuggled down
mixed with the knife
the odd surgical gown

This place
is no place
it's arsenic and old lace
a graveyard
for tat
for the unacceptable face

it's sticks
it's stones
great white telephones
the forgotten
the rotten
the out of the way

It's
Vesuvius, a new hill
awaiting Pompeii
an awkward accretion
a formation
of fate
it's falling fallen it's filled up
with hate
