This is a poem that stands on chairs.
Just to let you know its there.
A rhyme-able rogue - it shakes and shouts
And makes its poet lark about.

This is a poem that plays to the crowd.
It is only at home when said OUT LOUD!
It’s definitely trouble; bolshy and bold;
not for the swots, the dull or the old.

This is a poem that takes that leap.
It’s never in danger of getting too deep!
It loves to prance and hold the eye,
To make you laugh (the teachers cry).

For this a poem that lives to joke;
To be read in public by a crazy bloke.
It ain’t for the types who want to think
For they will say– “That poem, it stinks!”

But this is a poem that really don’t care.
For this is a poem we all can share.
A poem, you see, for the start of a show.
To gather the folks
Before they GO!
