There’s
trouble! There’s trouble!
Now down at the Zoo!
And nobody there has a clue what to do.
For they no longer know which beasty is which?
Which is the lion? And which the ostrich?
They no longer know ‘cos a really big gale
Blew all the signs right off their old nails.
They no longer know. They’ve lost all the names.
But perhaps we can help with a good guessing game.
Their
first mighty beast is as big as a house
It is almost quite bald, and it’s grey like a mouse.
With huge, flapping ears and flexible nose
That reaches right down to the tips of its toes.
Now tell me! Now tell me! What is its name?
Perhaps we can help with a good guessing game.
Then
there’s a hunter, a cat in a stripe,
From the hottest of jungles; a dangerous type.
With razor-sharp teeth, and daggerish claws
That it often keeps hidden in the fur of its paws.
Now tell me! Now tell me! What is its name?
Perhaps we can help with a good guessing game.
The
next lofty beast has an extra-long neck,
With loping-long legs, that are good on a trek.
It is very well suited for reaching those leaves
That grow at the top of the tallest of trees.
Now tell me! Now tell me! What is its name?
Perhaps we can help with a good guessing game.
The
next in the line is a great shaggy bear
Who is kept really warm by his coat of white hair.
This hunter’s at home in the ice and the snow,
Where only the weird and the walruses go!
Now tell me! Now tell me! What is its name?
Perhaps we can help with a good guessing game.
The
last in the line, is a beast without bars.
That is often now seen when driving its car.
It hasn’t much hair, so it’s put on a suit.
It is really quite odd, a strange looking brute.
Now tell me! Now tell me! What is its name?
Perhaps we can help with a good guessing game.
There’s
trouble! There’s trouble!
Now down at the Zoo!
And nobody there has a clue what to do.
They no longer know their animals’ names
Perhaps we can help with a good guessing game.
