The
aim of this session is to experience some of the new writing opportunities facilitated
by computers. The emphasis will be on writing and exploration,
and everything introduced will be approached in an artistic and
non-technical manner. There will be a number of hands-on exercises
that give a real flavour of the excitement of writing with computers.
There will be plenty of opportunities for discussion (of issues such as - What do we call this stuff? - Is it different from the writing media we have become use to?)
This workshop will introduce some of the
extraordinary works available over the
web etc. and the aesthetic controversies that have grown-up around
the tools, the critical terms and the future of this exciting
area of writing practice.
