Since 1995 trAce has

facilitated writers and artists who work in new media

to develop projects that explore the boundaries of literature (Writers for the Future), and to share those projects through

• collaboration (Noon Quilt, The War Room, The Breathing Wall),

• online publication (frAme Journal of Culture and Technology),

• contests (trAce/Alt-X New Media Writing Competition, New Media Article Writing Competition),

• conferences (Incubation) and

• teaching (trAce Online Writing School)

trAce now includes over 5,000 pages of content that connect writers and readers around the world to a wealth of resources

(Online Toolkit and Guide).

As well, since August 2002, trAce has published over 50 articles that cover a wide range of subjects of concern to new media writers, educators and researchers.

Other On-line Writing Centres include the Electronic Poetry Centre and the Electronic Literature Organization and the Reading Room at Eastgate Systems.
